Last weekend, my whole family went to visit my grandmother's hometown together. It's a fishing village on the coast, there are many interesting things.
On Friday night, I and my parents arrange clothes, gifts, and things into suitcases and bags to tidy up, put them in the trunk of the car, and then go to bed. The next morning, without my mother's call, I woke up early in the morning, cleaned myself and went downstairs to wait for my mother. Because I'm really looking forward to today's trip. All the way, I kept staring out the window. Waiting to see the familiar silhouette of the tall coconut trees in the countryside. Rows of tall buildings and lanes of traffic quickly passed through the doorway. Gradually, the buildings became sparse, and the groves appeared more and more. Suddenly, I saw in the distance, coconut boats swaying in the wind. And heard the sound of waves crashing. Ah, so it's almost there. Through the glass door, I see a large beach with golden sand. Each wave rushed to the shore and then melted away like a dancer welcoming a son back to his hometown. After a bend, a small fishing village appeared before my eyes. The image of houses with bright red tile roofs close together makes me feel strangely cozy and warm. Going inside, after a few turns, I also reached my grandmother's house. It is a small and old but very beautiful four-level house, nestled in the shade of garden trees.
From afar, I saw my grandfather and grandmother waiting at the gate. As soon as I got off the car, I immediately ran over and hugged my grandparents. Parents also followed and went into the house. The layout in the house is still the same, nothing new. Still clean and tidy. Grandma poured cool water for the whole family to drink. He also brought out a plate of sweet, fragrant guava that had just been picked from the garden. I ate and sat leaning against her while listening to everyone's conversation, the atmosphere was extremely happy. That afternoon, after having lunch, I followed my grandfather to take a nap in the bamboo cot in the back garden. Lying in the shade of trees, enjoying the cool breeze blowing in from the sea, I fell asleep without realizing it. By the time I woke up, it was already late afternoon. At that time, my neighbor Mai took me and the children to the beach. They chase each other, swim, then collect seashells. After a while, when we were tired, we rested under the coconut tree. When I opened my eyes, I was overwhelmed by the massive scene of returning fishing boats. The big boats of the fishermen brought a lot of fish and shrimp to the mainland. Looking closer, I realized that there was Uncle Hai, Uncle Thang was also driving a boat and pulled up close to the sandy shore. People from the village eagerly received goods, classified them for sale or processing. That night, I was able to eat a full, fresh, and very refreshing seafood meal. The next day, my grandmother took me to the market. Although it's not the first time, I still have to be overwhelmed by the bustling seafood market with buyers and sellers. All kinds of fish, crabs, shrimps, squids, oysters… that I rarely see.
On Sunday afternoon, me and my parents returned to the city. While preparing, I regretted it so much. If only time would slow down a bit, so that I could stay in my hometown longer. When we parted, I hugged my grandparents tightly again, and promised them that next month I will return to my hometown to play.
The car just kept rolling, taking me away from this beloved land. I hope that my grandparents will always be healthy and love life like they are now. Leaving the motherland will always be a great place to return to the children.
