Tet holiday is the most important and anticipated holiday in Vietnam. It is celebrated annually on the first day of the Lunar New Year, typically in late January or early February. During Tet, families gather together to feast, exchange gifts, and participate in traditional customs such as visiting ancestral graves and participating in dragon and lion dances. Streets are decorated with lanterns, banners, and fresh flowers to symbolize new beginnings and good luck. The holiday lasts for several days, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the country as people take time off from work and celebrate with their families. Tet, as known as Lunar New Year holiday is one of the most important festival in Vietnam. Tet usually occurs at the end of January or at the beginning of February. Tet holiday often lasts for 7 - 9 days. Before Tet, all family members clean and clear all the house and the garden. They also decorate the house with parallel sentences and peach or apricot blossoms. During Tet, some families enjoy this festival by preparing traditional food such as Vietnamese square cake, dried candied fruit, braised pork and eggs, etc. Especially, for children, they look forward to Tet holiday because they can receive lucky money from adults as a way to give them wishes for the new year. For all Vietnamese, Tet is an occasion for them to reunion after 12-month working hard outside. That is the time to have family gatherings and welcome the new year with many blessings.
